The Work Horizons team
When we first started Work Horizons we were looking for a way to help a couple of friends and family members: one who wanted to return to work, but felt her options were very limited after a career break looking after children; the other who had risen through the ranks at work but felt increasingly dissatisfied with the working environment.
Very quickly interest grew and we realised that there were many, many more people who would benefit from the same kind of career advice and support, but were not in a position to hire a career coach. Over many months we looked at similar services, researched online solutions and started to plan, to design and to write the content that is now the Work Horizons service. Founders and Directors
Rob is a coach and business mentor. He worked for many years in personnel, ultimately heading the HR department at a major engineering firm. He was also responsible for the award-winning young people training programme at MG Rover.
Ralph is a business adviser to start-ups and small businesses, as well being a qualified Chartered Accountant with board level experience. Typically he works with motivated individuals who want to start up, grow their businesses, make more money and realise their dreams.
Philip is a Chartered Marketer and technology specialist. He is a director of Work Horizons and is responsible for the website and marketing. He is particularly interested in developing customer-led strategy for innovative startups.
Anita was a founder and director of Work Horizons until 2018, when she lost her fight with cancer. During her life she worked for many different organisations, including as a university lecturer. She published numerous papers and books focused on career and employment.
June is a qualified and experienced HR professional and a Certified Professional Coach. She has worked at senior level in corporate HR and is passionate about leadership development. Her natural, authentic coaching style helps individuals at all levels to achieve their potential.
Claire Jenkins is a specialist in interview technique. She coaches individuals and groups to prepare for job and university interviews by helping individuals to unlock their confidence, secure an impact and then practise what they will say.
Melaney is a Chartered HR Director, behaviour expert and profiler with 20 years’ experience in leadership, management and team development internationally and in the UK.
Diane is a qualified Executive Coach and Mentor with over 25 years organisational experience including reporting directly to board members. She has coached and mentored senior leaders and their teams in a variety of sectors.
Jo-Anne is a career and outplacement coach with over 25 years’ experience in human resources and management. She helps individuals with career fulfilment, whether that be finding a new job, changing career, starting a business or improving performance.
Jackie Handy is director of Runway Global. She supports individuals around the world, equipping them with the tools to accelerate their personal and professional performance.
Dr Naomi Irvine specialises in helping individuals to find their voice in complex organisations, focusing on gender empowerment, courageous conversations, personal effectiveness, leadership development, coaching and mentoring.
Lyn Calver is Managing Director of LC Education & Training. She has spent over fourteen years in the education sector working with individuals and businesses to improve confidence, knowledge and skills. She is also a qualified lecturer.
